Future of our healthcare in Canada - family physicians needed

CBC News: The National. (2022). Why is it so hard to find a family doctor in Canada?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU9CZRuOXBE

This news reports some challenges that family doctors face and the reasons for the shortage. Currently, 1 out of 5 Canadian does not have a family doctor. Essentially, family doctors run small businesses that deal with administration, pay overhead, and treat patients. Family doctors feel burnout, from 33% in 2017 to 57% in 2021.

https://doi.org/10.15171/ijhpm.2014.53

This article illustrates the dilemma of recruiting international medical graduates (IMGs) as a possible solution to the physician shortage in Canada. While recruiting IMGs could be a solution to increase the number of family physicians in Canada, especially in rural areas. However, there's an ethical aspect that should be considered. i.e. if it is ethically justified to recruit IMGs from countries suffering from acute shortages of trained physicians.
